The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and Inspire People are partnering to bring an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Delivery Lead. As the Portfolio Delivery Lead (Customer), the successful candidate will be at the forefront of planning and prioritising a comprehensive portfolio of Customer change initiatives. This position promises a stimulating environment where you can make a tangible impact on business outcomes.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer (CCO) and accountable to the Head of CMO, the Portfolio Delivery Lead (Customer) will oversee the planning and prioritisation of Customer change and transformation initiatives. This includes managing the governance approach and ensuring delivery according to minimum standards and controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leads and project managers to shape strategic thinking and define measurable outcomes.
  • Create and manage roadmaps ensuring strategic alignment and prioritisation by value.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise roadmap, OKRs, standards, and controls.
  • Deliver initiatives within the portfolio, providing hands-on management and setting initiatives across cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate storytelling of the portfolio's objectives and contributions to corporate strategy.
  • Manage the portfolio budget, conducting monthly reviews and planning.
  • Lead a team of 4-6 Project Managers and 3 Business Analysts.
  • Orchestrate quarterly planning and manage dependencies at a strategic level.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Technical Expertise: Strategic thinking, prioritisation, benefit realisation, lean portfolio planning, scaled agile delivery, resource planning, governance, risk management, budget management.
  • Business Acumen: Project and portfolio delivery, data analysis, roadmap delivery, customer experience.
  • Leadership: Line management, strategy setting, performance delivery, stakeholder relationships, persuasion, negotiation, inclusive working.
  • Ways of Working: Ownership, support, collaboration, communication, analytical thinking, strategic planning, excellence in delivery, change champion, proactive development.

Qualifications:

  • Programme management qualification or equivalent.
  • Lean Portfolio/Project management qualification desirable.
  • Experience in delivering complex high-level roadmaps and leading cross-functional teams.
