Background
With annual revenues of approximately $1.2bn, Inmarsat is the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services. Originally established in 1979 by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Inmarsat was privatised in 1999 and later floated on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: ISAT.L) in 2005.
Today Inmarsat is the market leader in the provision of mobile satellite services, with the largest portfolio of global satellite voice and data communications solutions and value-added services.
The Challenge
In 2016, Inmarsat launched an internal IT Transformation programme known as OneIT to create a collaborative environment, where systems and processes will be secure, accessible and aligned with the way Inmarsat runs its business.
The OneIT programme is the biggest and most challenging IT transformation programme in Inmarsat’s history and as such requires significant effort, resources and change management across the three pillars of People, Process and Technology.
As a programme of significant change, OneIT will be transformational for Inmarsat in that it will simplify business processes, simplify the IT environment and help support a culture change across the organisation in terms of how Inmarsat operates all aspects of business, including interactions with customers, partners and employees.
The Solution
Using a wide-ranging mix of recruitment methodologies, Inspire People have supported Inmarsat’s internal recruitment teams by resourcing a wide-ranging number of skill sets to make the OneIT programme a success, providing contract and permanent IT professionals across business analysis, process transformation and solutions architecture, supporting several key projects including Service Catalogue, Order to Cash and Product Lifecycles and Service Delivery Transformation.
